You do not necessarily need to hire an attorney. You have every right to prepare and file documents on your own behalf. The fact that a legal document was not prepared by an attorney does not determine the legality of said document. However, we at Park strongly urge you to hire an experience company to assist you to assist you at this very important time in your life. It does matter how your documents are completed and how much support you receive from a company after your documents have been filed, and we at Park pride ourselves in making sure each client is taken care of every step of the way.

Do You Have To Be A Resident To File In El Paso County In The State Of Colorado?
Procedures state that you have to be a resident 90 days prior to filing.

How Long Does The Process Take?
The process takes approximately 3.5 to 4.5 months uncontested. Approximately 6 months or longer contested. However, each case is different.

Does The Other Party Have To Be A Resident Of The State Of Colorado?
No, only one party needs to be a resident.

Does Everybody Have To Take The Parenting Class?
No, only people filing for divorce with children. Additional, if the other spouse lives out of the state, we may be able to waive the parenting class.
